Read through the remedies below and choose one or more (up to 6) that you feel you may need at this time. Remember, there is no harm done if you choose a remedy that you don’t need, it is just that nothing will happen. So trust your intuition and go ahead and choose:
1: FOR FEAR
- Rock Rose – terror and fright, panic attacks
- Mimulus – fear of something known eg: spiders, heights, crowds, darkness…basically anything, but you know what it is you fear
- Aspen – vague fears of something unknown, can be quite anxious but don’t know what is the cause
- Cherry Plum – fear that you will do something terrible, or you will lose your mind, obsessive tendencies
- Red Chestnut – overly concerned and constant worrying and fear for the safety and well-being of those you love
2: FOR UNCERTAINTY
- Cerato – always asking others for their opinions on what you should do, not trusting your inner guidance
- Scleranthus – can’t decide between two courses of action, agonise over decision but generally don’t ask for others’ opinions
- Gentian – easily discouraged, especially when small delays or hindrances occur
- Gorse – despondent with a loss of conviction that things can improve, especially when a condition or situation has been longstanding, the person may make another effort to please another, but don’t have any faith in an improvement.
- Hornbeam – weary, not wanting to get out of bed and face the day – but you do manage to get through the day, procrastinating, favouring one side of the body after injury even when the injured part is healed.
- Wild Oat – when you need help with your life’s direction and purpose, you may be good at everything you try, but nothing really satisfies.
3: FOR INSUFFICIENT INTEREST IN PRESENT CIRCUMSTANCES
- Clematis – dreamy, forgetful type, tends to escape into fantasy about the future
- Honeysuckle – lives in the past and can’t accept that things are now changed
- Wild Rose – can’t be bothered, not motivated to do anything, “what’s the point” kind of attitude
- Olive – completely exhausted after physical or mental effort, drained with low energy
- White Chestnut – incessant thoughts and mental arguments, often the cause of insomnia
- Mustard – sudden gloom and depression of unknown origin
- Chestnut Bud – repeating life patterns, not learning from past mistakes
4: FOR LONELINESS
- Water Violet – self reliant person, who does not like interference or advice from others, prefers own company
- Impatiens – Impatient with others’ shortcomings or their slow pace of learning
- Heather – self-absorbed, will talk to anyone who will listen, prone to gossip, will do anything to keep the attention of others
5: FOR THOSE OVER-SENSITIVE TO INFLUENCES AND IDEAS
- Agrimony – person who masks their suffering with humour and high spirits, whilst using some addictive behaviour to help them cope (tobacco, alcohol, exercise…)
- Centaury – the doormat, always says yes to others, even at their own expense and health
- Walnut – needing help to deal with any kind of change, needing protection from the negative influences of others (even if apparently well-intentioned)
- Holly – any negative emotion especially anger, jealousy, hatred
6: FOR DESPONDENCY AND DESPAIR
- Larch – lacking in confidence to start something, believing it will fail anyway
- Pine – when guilt is your motivator rather than genuine desire
- Elm – feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities
- Sweet Chestnut – mental anguish and despair, the Dark night of the Soul
- Star of Bethlehem – for any shock or trauma to help with recovery
- Willow – for resentment and self-pity, blaming others for what happens in your life
- Oak – for the steady persevering person who doesn’t know when to stop, even to the point of their own exhaustion
- Crab Apple – for feeling dirty and unclean, for self-hatred
7: FOR OVER-CARE FOR WELFARE OF OTHERS
- Chicory – possessive love, really want loved ones to be close by, at the extreme may manipulate others to keep them close – “after all that I’ve done for you! ”
- Vervain – trying too hard to enthuse others, the list makers, telling others what they “should” be doing
- Vine – domineering and harsh in one’s expectations of others, disciplinarian
- Beech – fussy and petulant, picking on the small details, irritable, lacking in compassion and understanding of different ways of doing things
- Rock Water – self-denial and repression in the search for personal perfection, rigidity and lack of flexibility, they pride themselves on their iron control
